The gorge is close to the village of Imbros, 700m above sea level, and is part of the E4 European path. The route is 11km long; it starts from the village and lasts about three hours. Its exit is in the village of Komitades. It is a relatively easy hike and can be done throughout the whole year, hence its popularity.
Inside the gorge, areas with trees alternate with interesting geological formations, and spots with great views.
