Beaches
Kali Limenes

The beach is in the village of Kali Limenes in the southwest of Asterousia. It is an organised beach and within walking distance there are cafes, taverns, and shops.

Opposite the village there is the islet of Agios Pavlos that is linked to the visit of the Apostle Paul in Kali Limenes, as mentioned in the acts of the Apostles (27,8). On this island there are oil tanks that serve as a refuelling station for ships that cross the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal. Despite this intense industrial activity, the sea of the region is clean.

Around Kali Limenes you can find several beaches, many of which offer peace and relaxation. To the east, between Kali Limenes and Chrysostomos, there is an organised 1km sandy beach with tamarisks. If you want more isolation, hike to the beach of Karavovrisi, through a small path.

The project is implemented through the Regional Development Fund of Crete
