Gorges
Mesa Gorge

This gorge was formed by the flow of the Platis River, to the east of mount Kedros. The high flow of the river created an idyllic aquatic environment, with waterfalls and small lakes. To cross it you need about an hour of walking on a path overgrown with plane trees, while some places require swimming.
Along the route, platy limestones alternate with flysch rocks from Pindos, creating diversity on the slopes of the gorge.

The project is implemented through the Regional Development Fund of Crete
