The gorge starts near the village of Philippi in Mesara and ends at the coast in Tsoutsouro. The total length of the itinerary is 6km and it is quite accessible.

Along the Midri river there are ruins of ancient settlements, while towards the exit of the gorge you can find the ancient city of Inatos and its Roman Baths. In the middle of the gorge there is a spring with running water, known as Perdiconeri (water of the partridge). The best time to visit is during summer because there is no water flowing.
