Refuges
Volikas refuge

The refuge is close to the village Kambos in Keramia, north of the White Mountains, at an altitude of 1400m.
It was founded in 1958 and is one of the oldest refuges in Crete. You can reach it after a 3-hour hike from Kambos. From the refuge, there is a path heading south, that reaches the Spathi peak (2048m), and continues towards Livada, where it joins the European E4 path that leads to the refuges of Katsiveli and Tavri. The path of Therisos also passes from there and reaches the western part of the Mavri peak (2070m). The refuge can accommodate 30 people. For visits or bookings, contact the Chania Mountaineering Club.

The project is implemented through the Regional Development Fund of Crete
