The forest is located south of the Psiloritis mountain, on a small plateau. The vegetation includes mainly kermes oak trees, while in the north there are clusters of the endemic zelkova abelicea tree.
You can reach the forest southeast of Gergeri and north of Skinakas, following the rural road. It is also accessible on foot, from the European E4 path, the gorge of Agios Nikolaos or the lake of Zaros.
