Beaches
Glyka Nera

The beach is 4km to the west of Sfakia and is considered one of the most beautiful in Crete. It takes its name (Glyka Nera means fresh waters) from freshwater springs on the beach front, close to the sea. On the steep slopes, there is a small ruin of a church dedicated to Agia Paraskevi.
The beach is accessible by boat from Chora Sfakion, or by hiking from Loutro (one hour) or Chora Sfakion (30 minutes). There is also a canteen with snacks and refreshments.

The project is implemented through the Regional Development Fund of Crete
