Toplou Gorge
The gorge is to the west of the Toplou Monastery and includes geotopes of exceptional importance. The route is 3.3km long and you can walk it in 1 hour and 10 minutes. You can return via a smaller gorge.
The landscape along the gorge will fascinate you with its palm date trees, carob trees, oleanders, wild olive trees, small lakes with terrapins, coral fossils and tafoni (Swiss cheese rocks).
Geological formations with steep slopes, caves, tafoni (Swiss cheese rocks), rocks of the Tripoli section and the Phyllites-quartzites zone compose a unique geotope around the monastery.
