Katsiveli refuge

The refuge is on the Katsiveli plateau, in the centre of the impressive mountain desert of the White Mountains, at an altitude of 1980m.
It was founded in 1994 and can accommodate 20 people. You reach it after a 7-hour hike starting from Anopoli and passing from Rousies. However, there is a dirt road that leads from Anopoli to the area Amoutsera, closer to the refuge.
Katsiveli is a mountainous junction and many paths pass from it, including the E4 European path. From there you can reach the highest peak of the White Mountains, Pahnes, at an altitude of 2453m but also the peak Svourihti (2356m). For visits or bookings, contact the Chania Mountaineering Club.

The project is implemented through the Regional Development Fund of Crete
