The beach is to the northeast of the village of Xerokambos, 10km away from Zakros. It is accessible by road and is within walking distance from cafes, taverns, and shops.

This secluded beach with its fine sand and blue waters is a nature lovers’ destination because of the important wetland of Alatsolimni.
The Alatsolimni lake or Xerokambos Ziros lake is a protected seasonal salt lake that creates a wetland with rushes and sandy vegetation. The lake evaporates during the summer months creating a salt marsh.
